Cyanamid to Sell Cosmetics Business: American Cyanamid Co. said it was selling the bulk of its toiletries and fragrance business, including its Old Spice cologne and Breck hair-care lines, for $370 million. Cincinnati-based Procter & Gamble will buy the men’s fragrance and toiletries business for $300 million, and the remaining product lines in the Shulton Group unit will be sold to other buyers. The deal excludes the Pierre Cardin fragrances. Wayne, N.J.-based American Cyanamid also disclosed it was in advanced talks with another buyer about the sale of its household products business, including Pine Sol cleansers.
