Dick Clark Productions Inc. said it acquired the share of the American Bandstand Grill restaurant venture that it did not already own from Harmon Entertainment of Secaucus, N.J. Terms were not disclosed.
Burbank-based Dick Clark, a television production company, and Harmon formed a joint venture in 1988 to develop restaurants based on the American Bandstand trademark. The joint venture produced one restaurant, the American Bandstand Grill in Miami, and plans to develop others around the world.
The Miami restaurant features record-your-own video and audio booths and a retail store that sells American Bandstand memorabilia.
Dick Clark also said that a Hall of Fame honoring the Clark-produced American Music Awards will be built on top of the Great American Pyramid, a 32-story stainless steel structure under construction in Memphis. Dick Clark said it licensed to the Pyramid Operating Authority the right to use the American Music Awards trademark in exchange for royalties on ticket admissions.
