Attorneys for the Italian basketball team Il Messaggero filed a lawsuit in federal court against the Boston Celtics over the services of guard Brian Shaw.
Shaw was the Celtics’ top draft pick in 1988. He played one season with the team before joining Il Messaggero. On Jan. 23, he signed a five-year deal with the Celtics starting with the 1990-91 season.
