Babler Appointed to City Council
The City Council this week unanimously appointed Charles Babler to fill the council seat vacated by Paul G. Verellen. Babler assumed his seat Tuesday and will hold the position until the term expires in November. Verellen resigned because he was leaving the city.
Babler, 54, owns a recreational vehicle dealership in Stanton and sits on the community affairs committee.
The council could have left the seat vacant until the next election but filled the post because an even number of council members can result in delays.
