To facilitate construction, the connector road from the southbound San Diego Freeway to the westbound Ventura Freeway will be closed from 10 tonight to 11 a.m. Saturday and again from 10 p.m. Saturday to 11 a.m. Sunday, the state Department of Transportation announced.
In addition, the connector from the northbound San Diego Freeway to the westbound Ventura Freeway will be closed from 10 p.m. Saturday to 11 a.m. Sunday, Caltrans said.
The closings are part of a $37-million project, scheduled for completion in early 1992, to widen the freeway to 10 lanes from Universal City to Woodland Hills.
Besides the connector roads, Caltrans crews will close up to four eastbound lanes and three westbound lanes of the Ventura freeway on both nights in the vicinity of Haskell Avenue.
Also, numerous on- and off-ramps will be closed this weekend.
