Foothill Names Gainey Girls’ Basketball Coach

Mary Gainey has been named girls’ basketball coach at Foothill High School.
Gainey replaces Sheila Adams, who resigned after 15 seasons as the Knights’ coach. Adams’ teams won 12 league championships and advanced to three Southern Section title games, winning the 3-A championship in 1985.
Gainey, of Tustin, played softball and basketball at Mater Dei and recently graduated from Fresno State, where she played basketball for four years.
