Police in San Diego and La Mesa are comparing notes on the deaths of two women killed by gunshots through their bedroom windows. Both victims were struck in the back, the county medical examiner’s office said. Deborah Billingsley, 32, was killed early Saturday when an undetermined number of shots from a pistol were fired through a bedroom window that faced a side yard of her southeast San Diego residence. Linda Lizbeth Lawson, 38, was hit late Thursday by a shotgun blast fired through the bedroom window of her La Mesa residence--about five miles away. The window faces the street.
