IRS Records Gets New Partner: EMI Music Worldwide has acquired an unspecified partnership interest in IRS Records, the two companies announced. Under the arrangement, EMI will provide “substantial funding” for talent development and the expansion of company operations. EMI will also distribute IRS’ product in most major markets. IRS is known for its youthful roster. Its recording artists include Concrete Blonde and Animal Logic.
