Road Warrior Takes the Off-Ramp: Mel Gibson, squeezing his last ounce of energy for interviews promoting his new film “Air America,” is taking a year off. “It gets to a point where your work suffers. I’ve got to go away and learn some new tricks. I’ve got to replenish my creative energy because I’m out of it,” Gibson said this week. Gibson said he reached the burnout stage near the end of filming his fourth movie without a break, “Hamlet,” in which he co-stars with Glenn Close.
