Prosecution Rests in Trial of Todd Bridges

The prosecution rested its case Wednesday after a day of testimony in the retrial of “Diff’rent Strokes” star Todd Bridges on charges of assault in the drug den shooting of a cocaine dealer.
The shortened case presented by Los Angeles County Deputy Dist. Atty. William Hodgman came as a surprise. “We just decided to take a different approach,” he said. Several police officers were called to the stand, but other key witnesses in the first trial were omitted. Hodgman told jurors on Tuesday that he would prove Bridges shot convicted drug dealer Kenneth “Tex” Clay eight times in a dispute over the former child star’s BMW automobile.
