BBC Aims for Youth With Radio Launch

LONDON — The British Broadcast Co. today launched Radio 5, its first new national radio network in 23 years, wooing younger listeners with sports, entertainment and education.
The publicly funded, no-advertising BBC also runs local radio stations and national television networks competing against commercial radio and TV channels.
