ROUNDUP : Hat Trick Caps Win for Cal Lutheran

Sophomore midfielder Dave Rinehart recorded Cal Lutheran’s first hat trick of the season and freshman goalie Ed Guerricabetia notched his third consecutive shutout to lead the Kingsmen to a 4-0 win over Azusa Pacific on Tuesday.
Larry Gidley scored the other goal for Cal Lutheran (4-0) in the NAIA District 3 match. Visiting Azusa Pacific fell to 3-4-1.
In another soccer match:
Moorpark 1, San Diego Mesa 0--Robert Harris scored late in the first half on an assist from Shaun Christensen in the nonconference match at Moorpark.
Two goalies--Angelo Maccano in first half and Mike Zemansky in second half--combined on the shutout for Moorpark (4-0).
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Pierce d. Moorpark, 15-13, 15-0, 15-9--Stephanie Burns had 13 kills and Lori Mertes added nine to lead Pierce in a Western State Conference match at Pierce.
Amy Sodek had 21 assists and Lisa Suwara added 14 for Pierce (3-0, 2-0).
Occidental d. Cal Lutheran, 3-15, 15-3, 15-7, 15-7--Amy Sullivan had 11 kills to lead Occidental in a nonconference match at Cal Lutheran. Leslie Heitler had 28 assists for Occidental (3-3). Cal Lutheran is 0-1.
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
Royal d. Newbury Park, 10-15, 15-11, 15-11, 15-11--Jennifer Hamilton had 16 kills and Wende Brown added 13 to lead Royal (3-0, 1-0) in a Marmonte League opener at Royal.
Thousand Oaks d. Agoura, 16-14, 15-0, 15-4--Aimee Stone and Kaili Kimura had eight kills each to lead Thousand Oaks (3-0, 1-0) in a Marmonte League opener at Thousand Oaks.
L.A. Baptist d. Paraclete, 15-8, 15-1, 15-10--Amy Anderson and Monica Davis each had five kills for L. A. Baptist (3-0) in a nonleague match at Paraclete.
Birmingham d. Reseda, 15-5, 15-6, 15-9--Visiting Birmingham was led by Tina Larson’s 10 kills in the nonleague match. Meredith Lewis added six kills for Birmingham (2-0).
L.A. Lutheran d. Pacific Christian, 15-13, 15-5, 11-15, 15-13--Carrie Schaumann had nine kills to lead visiting L. A. Lutheran (1-1) in a Heritage League opener.
Village Christian d. Crescenta Valley, 15-5, 15-4, 15-7--Holly Esposito recorded six kills to lead Village Christian (2-0) to a nonleague win at Crescenta Valley.
Burroughs d. La Canada, 15-2, 15-5, 15-2--Jennifer Wagner had 18 kills to lead Burroughs (4-0) in a nonleague win at La Canada.
La Reina d. Calabasas, 15-1, 15-7, 15-10--Sophomore Christy Potts had eight kills and teammates Tara Deukmedjian, Shannon Mahan and Alisa McEachern each had three to help the Regents win a nonleague match at La Reina (4-0).
