Directors in Training: There is still one way for outsiders without Hollywood connections--especially women and minorities--to break into the behind-the-scenes movie business: the Directors Guild of America’s assistant directors training program. On Saturday night at Santa Monica’s Museum of Flying, the program will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a reunion of such star alumni as directors Walter Hill (“48 HRS”) and Alan Rudolph (“Choose Me”); producers Howard Kazanjian (“Return of the Jedi”) and Richard Hashimoto (“Beetlejuice”); and TV director-producers Win Phelps (“L.A. Law”) and Philip Parslow (“Dynasty”).
