Avery International Corp.: The Pasadena-based maker of chemicals, labels, tapes and office products announced third-quarter income of $13.3 million, down 30% from the same quarter in 1989. Revenue for the period was $448.6 million, up 6% from the previous year. The company blamed reduced profits on legal and other expenses related to its merger with Dennison Manufacturing Co. and the impact of a weak worldwide industrial economy.
