WORLD IN BRIEF : SOUTH AFRICA : Buthelezi Accepts ANC Bid for Talks

Zulu leader Mangosuthu Gatsha Buthelezi cautiously welcomed an invitation from the African National Congress for talks next month on ending South Africa’s township violence. It would be the first meeting since ANC leader Nelson Mandela was released from prison in February. Mandela has refused previously to meet Buthelezi. Fighting between supporters of the two leaders has left hundreds dead in recent weeks.
