PREP ROUNDUP : Villa Park Wins in Water Polo

Kip Parsons scored six goals to lead Villa Park High School to a 14-8 victory over San Clemente in the Villa Park water polo tournament.
San Clemente led, 3-2, in the first quarter, but by early in the fourth quarter, Villa Park (6-2) moved out to a 12-7 lead. Parsons scored three third-quarter goals in that run.
In nonleague water polo:
Cypress 13, Downey 8--John Lynn had eight goals to lead visiting Cypress (3-1). Bob Norum had two goals for Cypress. Robert Walshe had seven saves for Cypress.
In nonleague girls’ tennis:
University 11, San Marcos 7--Jannette Fylpaa swept, 6-2, 6-0, 6-0, and Christina Pham swept, 6-1, 6-3, 6-2, to lead host University (3-3).
