The Opera Must Go On: Officials of the Washington Opera said Wednesday that a strike by the company’s chorus over demands for higher pay would not disrupt the season’s Nov. 3 opener. The 125-member chorus voted almost unanimously to walk out Monday night after management’s final offer was rejected, said Joshua Kaufman, regional representative of the American Guild of Musical Artists. The union’s lawyer and Martin Feinstein, general director of the Washington Opera, said another negotiating session was scheduled for Monday, but Feinstein said, “We have extended ourselves as far as we can go and I don’t know where we can go from here.”
