Reseda 21, Birmingham 14--Reseda (2-0) continued its dominance of Birmingham (1-1) as fullback Ricky Ray returned a kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown with 9:28 left in the third quarter at Reseda.

High school football--A player who scored what proved to be the decisive touchdown in Reseda’s 21-14 defeat of Birmingham on Friday was incorrectly identified. Henry McAlpine returned a kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown with 9:38 remaining in the third quarter to break a 14-14 tie.
Tailback Maurice Stepter led the Regent offense with 170 yards and a touchdown in 22 carries. Stepter’s score 1:27 into the second half gave Reseda a 14-7 lead.
Shortly afterward, Birmingham quarterback Noah Kirshbaum (five of 16, 124 yards) connected with Pierre Desrosiers on a 64-yard touchdown strike to tie the score, 14-14.
Since 1978, Reseda has won every meeting with Birmingham (1-1) with the exception of last year’s contest, which ended in a tie.
