Three of Jack McKeon’s lieutenants--his brother, Bill McKeon, and another scout Dick Hager, plus minor league official Harry Dunlop--were fired in the days before Joe McIlvaine was hired to replace McKeon as the San Diego Padres’ general manager.
Tom Romenesko, director of Padre scouting, declined to give reasons for the firings or who decided to make them.
