CSUN Wins 7th Volleyball Match in Row

Twins Marianne and Kathleen Dixon of Cal State Northridge combined for 20 kills Wednesday night to lead the Matadors to a 15-2, 15-2, 15-6 win over Cal State Fullerton in a women’s volleyball match at Fullerton’s Titan Gym.
Marianne led Northridge with 12 kills and Kathleen added eight. Northridge won its seventh consecutive match to run its record to 16-5.
Fullerton (3-18) lost its 14th consecutive match.
Setter Beth Welch had 28 assists and five service aces for Northridge. Marianne Dixon added seven digs, her sister Kathleen had six, and Dawn Krenik had five.
Fullerton’s Stephanie Shrieve had 16 assists and Stephanie Scofield had six kills.
Northridge had a 37-17 advantage in kills.
The Matadors will travel to Hawaii for four matches next week. Northridge will play Hawaii, Chaminade of Honolulu and Brigham Young.
