St. Francis 23, El Segundo 0--St. Francis posted its third shutout in a league opener at El Segundo.

The Golden Knights’ defense held El Segundo (3-2-1) to 79 yards in total offense, and Larry Duenas led the St. Francis offense with 72 yards in nine carries. St. Francis (3-2) took a 7-0 lead late in the second quarter on a 55-yard run by Pat Escamilla. Doug Fremdling ran four yards for another score with 20 seconds left in the half.
