Santa Ana Valley Pair Is Double Trouble

SANTA ANA — Henry Bratton and Mike Castleberry each scored twice in Santa Ana Valley’s 28-10 Century League victory over Foothill Saturday at Santa Ana Stadium.
Castleberry scored Santa Ana Valley’s first touchdown on a 31-yard pass from Gary Graves with seven minutes left in the first quarter. Castleberry (four receptions for 83 yards) also scored on a 28-yard pass from Graves with 39 seconds left in the third quarter.
Bratton (nine carries, 77 yards) scored on runs of 34 and 33 yards. His 34-yard run and Graves’ two-point conversion run gave Santa Ana Valley (1-0-1, 4-1-2) a 14-3 lead with 5:14 remaining in the second quarter.
Santa Ana Valley netted 312 offensive yards to Foothill’s 223.
Foothill (0-2-0, 1-6-0) scored its first points on Keo Powell’s 27-yard field goal with 2:20 left in the first quarter, then narrowed the Falcons’ lead to 14-10 on Mike Busalacchi’s three-yard run with 5:14 left in the second quarter. Quarterback Tim Chaix gained 93 of Foothill’s 177 rushing yards on 15 carries.
