FHP International Corp.: Reflecting growing membership in its prepaid health plans, the Fountain Valley health-care maintenance organization said its net income for the first quarter ended Sept. 30 was $8.5 million, compared to $6.8 million for the same quarter a year ago. Revenue for the quarter increased to $293.8 million from $210.04 million a year ago. FHP chairman Robert Gumbiner said the growth in revenue and earnings was “achieved through increased membership, an improvement in administrative expenses and higher interest income.”
