Trio-Tech Acquires Express Test Corp.

Trio-Tech International in San Fernando said it acquired Express Test Corp. in an exchange of cash and stock, but additional terms were not disclosed. Both Trio-Tech and Express Test, which is based in Sunnyvale, make equipment for testing semiconductors.
As a result of the merger, Express Test President Frank S. Gavin became executive vice president of Trio-Tech. S. W. Yong, Trio-Tech’s president, also assumed the duties of chief executive. A. Charles Wilson remains Trio-Tech’s chairman.
