LOCAL : 3 Ex-Lockheed Workers Win Suit

Three former Lockheed Corp. employees who claimed they were fired for reporting problems with the giant C-5 military cargo plane were awarded more than $45 million in punitive and other damages today.
A Superior Court jury that had deliberated since Nov. 5 following a six-week trial agreed that the men were wrongfully terminated by Lockheed in October, 1985.
Clyde Jones Jr., Terrence Schielke and Thomas Benecke were awarded a combined $45 million in punitive damages, $230,000 in lost earnings and $136,500 for emotional distress.
