Palmdale Man Pleads Innocent in Slaying

A Palmdale man accused of shooting his ex-wife’s live-in boyfriend pleaded innocent to a murder charge at his arraignment Tuesday in Antelope Valley Municipal Court.
Richard Allen Dean, 34, allegedly entered the house his ex-wife, Sandra Dean, 35, shared with Eric Larson, 39, on East Avenue R-5 in Palmdale at 6:30 a.m. Saturday and confronted Larson. He chased him out of the house and into the back yard, where he shot Larson with a handgun, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said. Larson was dead on arrival at Palmdale Medical Center.
Deputies arrested Dean about three hours later at a fast-food restaurant on Palmdale Boulevard, deputies said.
He is being held without bail at Los Angeles County Jail. His preliminary hearing is set Dec. 19.
