A Master for the Chorale? William Hall, Simon Halsey, Paul Salamunovich and Thomas Somerville will each rehearse the Los Angeles Master Chorale next month in an audition for the post of music director, which John Currie leaves vacant at the end of this season. Somerville, professor of music at Occidental College, is a new name in the search launched a year ago, when Currie announced he would not seek renewal of his contract. According to a spokesman, the organization hopes to have a new director in place for next season.
