* Derek J. Steel has been appointed to the newly created position of director, overseeing commercial sales for Microsemi Corp., Santa Ana. He will be responsible for marketing and sales of the company’s non-military/space products. Steel was formerly director of marketing and sales for Jeta Power Systems Inc. He has also held positions with Silicon General, TRW Semiconductors and GEC-Marconi Electronics.
