Three bandits armed with handguns and a shotgun robbed the Montgomery Ward store in the Mission Valley Center of about $50,000 Monday morning.
Two guards were tied up with rope and string during the 15-minute robbery, which happened shortly after the store opened, police spokesman Bill Robinson said.
A fourth man drove a car in which the three gunmen fled. The car was described as a black or dark blue Mazda 626 with California license plates. The suspects are still at large.
