“Annie” grossed $599,266 at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa for eight performances, Dec. 18 through Sunday, according to Center officials.
The musical, a non-subscription offering co-produced by the Center and California Music Theatre, “recorded a significant profit,” Center president Thomas F. Kendrick said through a spokesman. The Center declined to release specific figures, however. That is “proprietary information,” the spokesman said.
“Annie” had an average paid attendance of 79% for the entire run, “representing 85% of the potential gross” in ticket sales, according to the spokesman. The difference between those percentages indicates that higher-priced seats sold proportionally better than lower-priced seats.
