Wetlands Tours--Guided public tours of the Bolsa Chica wetlands will be held Saturday morning. The 90-minute tours, sponsored by Amigos de Bolsa Chica, will depart every 20 minutes beginning at 9 a.m. from the wetlands’ ecological reserve. The last tour will depart at 10:30 a.m.
The tour guide will discuss the wetlands’ ecology and wildlife, with an emphasis on the rare and endangered bird species found there. These include the snowy plover and the California least tern.
Those who would like to take the tour are asked to meet at the ecological reserve, on Pacific Coast Highway about half a mile south of Warner Avenue, across from Bolsa Chica State Beach.
Center Programs--The Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim will host an 8 a.m. birders’ walk Saturday.
The walk is free and open to all ages, but registration is required. Call (714) 998-8380 for more information. The center is at 6700 Walnut Canyon Road, Anaheim.
