Former Corona del Mar volleyball Coach Mark Rivadeneyra has been named girls’ coach at San Clemente, his alma mater.
Rivadeneyra, who played on the Tritons’ 1976 Southern Section championship, resigned at Corona del Mar last fall to pursue other coaching jobs. He coached the Sea King girls to the Sea View League title and Southern Section 5-A quarterfinals.
Mike Hurlbut, a 1983 San Clemente graduate, will coach the Triton boys’ team. Hurlbut, who played at USC, is the girls’ coach at Dana Hills.
They replace Jack Iverson, who resigned last fall after 17 years at the school.
