USC Gets Grant to Boost Ranks of Latino Teachers
- Share via
USC has received a $398,985 grant to help start a project designed to increase the number of Latino teachers.
The money from the Ford Foundation will be used to operate the first phase of the School of Education’s $1.2-million Latino Teacher Project, officials said.
The project will create a career track for Latino teaching assistants in the Los Angeles area. Officials hope to eventually transform 500 teaching assistants into probationary teachers each year.
