A Flood of Support: ABC expected perhaps a trickle but instead got a flood of calls Tuesday night in response to airing several promos asking local viewers to call in and tell why they like “Homefront.” Some 18,000 calls poured in, forcing the network to stop taking any more. ABC will sift through the recorded testimonies and choose a few to feature in national TV spots. The idea is to dispel notions that the mildly rated post-World War II drama is a stale period piece by letting fans point out the contemporary issues “Homefront” deals with.
