Teen-Ager’s View of Gang Violence

My world is so full of violence,

gang violence.

My cousins got shot, one here, another there.

It hurts to know

that their young lives

were ended,

ended by the thing called violence.

But it happens, every day

somebody receives pain,

all because of violence.

When will it end?

The time seems so far away.

There is violence between

individuals, gangs, cities,

states and countries.

How can it be stopped?

Is the only answer that it can’t.

Why not? Why isn’t everyone

trying?

Why? Why? Why?
