Castro Stops Ramirez in 10th Round

Armando Castro of Mexico City stopped Antonio Ramirez of Los Angeles in the 10th round of their super-flyweight bout Monday night at the Forum.
With the victory, Castro, who weighed 116 pounds, advanced to the finals of the Forum tournament against Esteban Ayala.
Castro, 33-10-1 with 27 knockouts, dominated Ramirez after the early rounds, staggering Ramirez with a hard right in the 10th. Castro followed with a flurry of blows. Ramirez could not respond and the referee stopped it at 1:19 of the round.
Ramirez, 115 1/2, dropped to 12-2-1.
