HOME PORT: Former California Angels general manager Mike Port is back in official baseball: He was hired by the commissioner’s office Tuesday as president of the new Arizona Fall Baseball League. Port, fired by the Angels last year, will oversee a six-team minor league circuit that begins Oct. 5 and runs through Dec. 6. . . . Port, who lives in San Clemente, has been working in recent months as a consultant to major league baseball teams in negotiations with players.
