Don’t Ignore Baltics, Swede Urges President

WASHINGTON — Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt urged President Bush on Thursday not to let the United States become so preoccupied with Russia that it ignores the Baltic republics.
The two leaders held talks and a working lunch at the White House, and Bush said afterward he welcomes “Sweden’s desire to play a more active part in the emerging global community.”
