Return Fire on Dannemeyer, AIDS
If Rep. William E. Dannemeyer wants President Bush to take the blame for Earvin (Magic) Johnson’s HIV positive status (“ . . . and I am convinced he would be HIV-free today had your Administration fought for the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and AMA (American Medical Assn.) recommendations.” “Dannemeyer Knocks Bush on AIDS Policies,” Feb. 15), then Dannemeyer can take the responsibility for the thousands of dead and dying men and women who fell victim to his homophobic prejudice and his threat to fight an $18-million National Institutes of Health study of teen-age sexual practices recommended by Health and Human Services Secretary Louis W. Sullivan.
May Dannemeyer’s political future rest in peace.
