Poway 90, Bonita Vista 24--The top-seeded Titans pressed on defense for three quarters in their 66-point blowout over the four-seeded Barons in the semifinal played at Mira Mesa High.
The tough defense forced nearly 30 turnovers by Bonita Vista (22-4) and allowed Poway (25-3) several easy baskets. Jamie Shadian had 19 points and seven assists, Allison Brady 13 points and Julie Lunardi 10 for the Titans. Poway’s Kris Carlson added eight points, nine rebounds and five blocks.
Division V
Christian 61, Marian 51--Top-seeded Christian outscored fifth-seeded Marian, 33-23, in the second half. Tiffany Stutz led the Patriots (18-4) with 21 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and seven steals. Teammates Stephanie Chadwell added 16 points, Diana DeGrenier contributed 12 and Jenny Culbertson scored nine.
