Pitt Says It Is Clean on Faulkner

Pittsburgh basketball Coach Paul Evans said Wednesday there were no improprieties in the recruitment of former New York high school star Jamal Faulkner.
The NCAA is investigating Pitt’s basketball program for possible violations in Faulkner’s recruitment three years ago, the New York Daily News reported.
“We’ve operated a clean program and recruited cleanly with anybody we’ve been involved with,” Evans said. He suggested that the NCAA might be looking into allegations against another school.
The newspaper, citing a source close to the situation, reported Wednesday that an NCAA investigator recently questioned Faulkner, now a sophomore at Arizona State, for four hours.
