SAN DIEGO : Man Found Shot in Parking Lot

Authorities are investigating the shooting of a San Diego man whose body was found late Friday lying in an East San Diego parking lot.
Officers reported to the 3600 block of Lemona Street to find Severiano Benitez, 29, of the 400 block of 63rd St., lying in the parking lot entrance of an apartment complex. He later died at Mercy Hospital.
Neighbors said they heard shots and saw a older model compact car fleeing the scene. Benitez was struck in the left arm and torso.
Police said he was taken to a local hospital but did not disclose the name.
