UCSD Finishes Second to Kenyon

UC San Diego finished second to defending champion Kenyon College at the NCAA Division III Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships in Buffalo on Thursday.
Kenyon scored 195 points to UCSD’s 116.
UCSD won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:22.63 with freshmen Gabe Speyer and Mike Pahland and sophomores John Flowers and Judd Glaser.
Travis Flowers took second in the 200 individual medley and John Flowers in the 50 free. The 400 medley relay team also placed second.
MEN’S TENNIS
San Diego State’s Jeff Belloli and Chris Numbers defeated University of San Diego’s Ignacio Martinez and Jose Luis Noriega, 6-3, 6-3, to win the No. 1 Doubles Flight of the San Diego Intercollegiate Championship tennis tournament. It had been postponed for various reasons since mid-February.
BASEBALL
Baker scored seven runs in the final three innings to take an 11-7 nonconference victory over Point Loma Nazarene (9-12-1).
Rich Miller led PLNC with two home runs--giving him six on the year--and three RBIs. Poway’s Brock Marsh hit his fourth homer, doubled and finished with four RBIs. Baker is 7-1.
WOMEN’S DIVING
Monte Vista graduate Kristen Walls, a junior at UCLA, earned All-American status by placing seventh in the 1-meter springboard event at the NCAA swimming and diving championships at University of Austin.
