An unidentified man was shot to death in the parking lot of a Barrio Logan apartment late Thursday night in what San Diego police believe was a gang-related shooting.
The man, who had a tattoo with the name “Ricky” on his arm, was thought to be in his mid-20s, the medical examiner’s office said.
The shooting occurred in a parking lot in the 300 block of Hoitt Street at about 11:30 p.m., San Diego police spokesman Bill Robinson said.
The man, who had a single gunshot wound in the back, was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, Robinson said.
Witnesses at the apartment complex said they heard several gunshots but were unable to identify any suspects.
