LOS ANGELES : Ferraro in Good Condition Following Heart Surgery

Councilman John Ferraro was in good condition at Good Samaritan Hospital after elective heart surgery, his spokeswoman, Erin Egge, said Wednesday.
Ferraro, 67, underwent bypass surgery in 1979 and has been on medication since then. The exact nature of Tuesday night’s surgery was not disclosed. Depending on the outcome of post-surgical tests, a second procedure may be conducted before he leaves the hospital, Egge said. “I spent some time with him this afternoon, and he looked pretty good and was already giving the nurses a hard time,” she said.
