Old Films in Vintage Venues Begin June 3

“The Last Remaining Seats VI,” the annual presentation of old films in vintage South Broadway movie palaces, begins June 3 with the presentation of the 1928 Buster Keaton comedy “The Cameraman” at the Orpheum Theater (opened in 1926) with organ accompaniment by Gaylord Carter.
* June 10: “Movie Crazy” (1932) with Harold Lloyd at the Palace Theater (1911), South Broadway’s oldest operating theater.
* June 17: “Hollywood Cavalcade” (1939) with Alice Faye and Don Ameche, plus Keystone Cops shorts, at the Los Angeles Theater (1931)--the street’s last and most lavish movie palace.
* June 24: “Sunset Boulevard” (1950), the Billy Wilder classic with Gloria Swanson, William Holden and Erich Von Stroheim, at the State Theater (1921).
An added Saturday matinee attraction June 20: Laurel and Hardy’s “The Music Box” (1932) and short subjects at the Rialto, 1023 Fair Oaks Ave., South Pasadena.
