Pierce Clinches Share of WSC Tennis Title

Kasper Nielsen and Vanja Nadali won their singles matches and then teamed to win the No. 1 doubles match to help Pierce College clinch a share of the men’s Western State Conference tennis title with a 9-0 win over visiting Moorpark.
Nielsen (13-2), Pierce’s top singles player, defeated Samann Hawa, 4-6, 6-1, 6-0. No. 2 Nadali won his 16th singles match in a row with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Ray Blair. Nielsen and Nadali swept Hawa and Blair in doubles, 6-1, 6-0.
Pierce improved to 17-1, 14-1 in conference play. The Brahmas can win the WSC title against Santa Monica on Tuesday in the conference finale.
