THOUSAND OAKS : 3 Men Face Trial in Drive-By Shooting

Three Conejo Valley men have been ordered to stand trial on conspiracy charges for their role in a 1991 Thousand Oaks drive-by shooting.
Municipal Court Judge John Hunter has ruled that there is sufficient evidence to try Wade Caddin, 19, Adolfo Alvarez, 19, and Joseph Cruz, 23, for conspiracy to commit battery, a Ventura County district attorney’s spokeswoman said.
The three will be arraigned again in Superior Court on May 11, the spokeswoman said. The charges stem from an April 27, 1991, shooting in the 600 block of Greenwich Drive. No one was injured in the incident.
A 1991 trial of the three men ended in a hung jury, but the district attorney refiled the conspiracy charges.
Hunter ruled this week that there was reasonable evidence to suggest that the three suspects had taken part in a meeting to plan the shooting.
Two other men have already been tried and convicted for firing the shots.
