Judge Gray on Legalizing Drugs

Gray’s proposal seems extremely sensible. It would reduce criminal enterprise associated with illegal drugs, cut the prison population and the increasingly unbearable burden on the criminal court system, and make tax funds available to tackle addiction. It would also free physicians to prescribe time-honored narcotic pain killers and reduce the gang turf warfare usually associated with petty would-be drug monopolies.
