VENTURA : Man Robs Branch of Bank of America

A man armed with a handgun held up a Ventura branch of Bank of America on Thursday and escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, authorities said.
From witnesses’ descriptions, the man may be the same one wanted in a series of recent bank robberies in the county, FBI Special Agent Gary Auer said.
Thursday’s robbery occurred about 1 p.m. when a man about 40 entered the bank branch at 2698 E. Main St., bypassed waiting customers and approached a teller, Auer said.
The man displayed a small, silver-colored handgun, shoved a crumpled note at the teller and demanded in a loud voice that the teller hand over cash, Auer said.
After receiving the undisclosed sum of money, the man left the bank, Auer said.
